BRIGHT SIDE: tomorrow is big daytime date with the smarteesteypants girl -- she wrote saying she was psyched about it -- how nice! also tomorrow is neko case show, 2 housewarming parties, carissa's wierd return from tour show AS WELL, and the first social function i'm attending where i'll have to see my ex-girlfriend and her stupid-ass trust-fund pothead fucker boyfriend -- it'll be one of those 'oh pardon me I'm just dropping by BETWEEN FUNCTIONS to say hi to all you people AND OH YEAH, TELL YOU HOW FUCKING EXCELLENT I AM DOING'
...or maybe i won't need to brag in front of the ex -- we'll see!

well, the matador reference was actually ancient, they may be sweethearts now, and besides, i'm out of the industry 
i used to publish a music zine (circ. 5000) in chicago a number of years ago, and matador was always the hardest to get promos from. Interviews were usually not a problem (i got a pavement cover story on my 2nd issue) but it was impossible to get music. So, at any rate, i prolly wouldn't be calling for a promo *anyway*, but every now and again i'll pull out the ol' contacts for something special.
