trumans water, at times, is to me, the greatest rock band. i am going to grow my hair [kinky jewfro type] until my 30th birthday...then go to the tattoo parlour...and then shave my head. at least this is what i do in the dramatic matt dillon-starring version of my birthday that has been playing in my head.

well, the matador reference was actually ancient, they may be sweethearts now, and besides, i'm out of the industry i used to publish a music zine (circ. 5000) in chicago a number of years ago, and matador was always the hardest to get promos from. Interviews were usually not a problem (i got a pavement cover story on my 2nd issue) but it was impossible to get music. So, at any rate, i prolly wouldn't be calling for a promo *anyway*, but every now and again i'll pull out the ol' contacts for something special. I do appreciate the offer...

congratulations! i've yet to be an aunt. even my extended family (cousins) haven't had any children. i am one of the youngest, and there are a lot of us. i think we all believe in the general idea that we want to wait to have children later in life. oooh, actually, my younger cousin is pregnant- i almost forgot! that will be interesting.

anyway, i hope your friend's brother is found and things end up ok. i really hope it is just a cry for help.

A few minor points.

I don't know what you look like so I can only guess as to the final effect of this but I think you should put an advert in your next 'zine of you holding a crepe in one hand, giving a thumbs-up with the other, an incredibly slimy leer on your face in extreme show-every-mole-and-pore close-up and the words 'tastes like FREEDOM!' below.

I can't remember who mentioned this to me, but you can defeat any member of The Establishment ™ by making Rage Against The Machine guitar noises with your mouth. Just walk up to your friendly neighborhood representative of The Man ™ and say BOW WOW WICCA WOW WOW WICCA WICCA WICCA and he will start frothing at the mouth and then his face will melt, as if he watched Belloq and Toht open the Ark of the Covenant.

I fear that unfortunately the constraints of the Internet have once again let me down in terms of my inability to convey sarcasm in a post. My last post re: war, marine, American Idol, etc. was made with tongue firmly in cheek. I am NEVER "proud to be an American (I'm never NOT proud either...just ambivalent, as with everything). And please don't EVER be afraid to say what you feel in my journal. I am not easily offended and treasure the honesty of other peoples' opinions more than a pleasant, but self-edited, comment. Oh...and my rant about the war protesters was just me having a tantrum...not well thought-out political commentary.

And finally, stop watching that B. Spears video!
