Thanks to everybody for the birthday wishes. I was in work and have stuff planned for this weekend so the day itself was very low key. What could've been a bit shit was made much better just because of the nice messages I received from people on here, facebook and by text. I want to open-mouth kiss every one of you.
Richard Herring was really good, but honestly not quite at the level I've seen him before. He seemed to be having a good night, but I didn't find the show as a whole as enjoyable as "Hitler Moustache" or "Headmaster's Son" Still some flashes of complete brilliance though, "Fucking Tancredo Neves!" Last time I saw him I'd gotten into his daily blog and endeavoured to do something similar, which quickly fell apart after about a fortnight after it became clear my life wasn't interesting enough to get 365 days worth of material from any given year. Maybe I'll give it another crack sometime.
Some of you may have heard me bitching and whining about the possibility of having to give evidence in court about a stolen trailer. Basically the firm I work for manufactured it, and our internal system had it recorded as having been stolen from the original owner. I confirmed this on the phone to somebody and next thing I know I've got a fucking witness citation arrive at the office. It was looking a lot like I'd be forced to spend the evening of my birthday alone in a hotel room in the middle of nowhere in Scotland for what was really a giant waste of my time.
Luckliy I got out of it by pricing my time at way way above what legal aid would realistically cover. Somebody in my office baked me a birthday cake designed to poke fun at my possible Scottish trip. It tasted much nicer than it looked.
Very much looking forward to Kapow and associated debauchery this weekend. Those of you wishing to claim your open-mouth kiss can do so after forming an orderly queue.

5 years after signing up and my Cineworld Unlimited card is still getting regular rinsings. Anyone whinging about it going up 1.50 a month deserves a punch in the cock
Source Code was fucking spectacular. I loved Moon so had high hopes for this, while still being a tiny bit apprehensive based on the trailer. I went in expecting a capable sci-fi action film but came out having seen something truly heartbreaking and thought-provoking. Loved it
Sucker Punch was something I went into with low expectations and was still underwhelmed. Based on the reviews I was expecting something that looked gorgeous with a shit story, and I really tried to like it because I like Snyder's work on the whole. The problem I had was that the film's real selling point (it's action) wasn't exciting. It was pretty, sure...but there was no real sense of peril and it was really just a bit boring
Limitless was pretty mediocre for a film about unbound potential, but it wasn't bad by any stretch. Bradley Cooper is always enjoyable but it seemed a little unfocused at times. Worth watching but don't cancel plans to catch a showing or anything.
