I'm not overly sure how my job interview went yesterday. On the whole I thought I did alright. There were no awkward silences or bits where I fell apart struggling to come up with an answer. I was at least fairly articulate and well spoken but the interviewer was almost impossible to read. It didn't help that he looked like a thinner version of Michael Ironside either.
There was the odd sentence that made me read into the situation a little too much. Like when explaining the job and talking about the provided uniform he said "You'll be provided with a black shirt" and then quickly doubled-back to say "If successful, you'll be provided with a black shirt" The last time I heard slips like that was in the interview for that mansion film thing which we wound up getting. This is the first job application I've actually got to the interview stage for and its a lot more money than I'm earning in my shitty supermarket job. Its also the first step towards me getting a really good job - since it'll provide me with useful experience instead of the shit i get in Morrisons. Plus you get free gym membership that normally runs at about 35 a month so thats pretty cool. Wont find out till the end of next week about whether or not I got it so fingers crossed for now.
Mitchell and Webb was fucking awesome The bits that had already been on their TV show were still funny and I loved having them do "Big Talk" while taking questions from the audience. Naturally i didnt think of anything even slightly amusing to ask until about 2 hours after the show finished. The lazy writers' cricket movie "Its not over until the proper number of overs to be bowled has been bowled" was quite possibly the highlight - especially the training montage of them smacking swingballs with cricket bats
Thats pretty much all the news I have for this entry. I'm quite proud that I managed to make none of it the least bit interesting. To make up for it here's a hilarious video.
I hate it when they give you a vague time when they'll get in touch, I'd prefer them to specify, that way, if you don't hear anything by the deadline, then you at least know that you didn't get it.
I really hope you do get it mate, not only will it be cool, but you'll hopefully make enough money to head down south from time to time and spend some time with us real people.
