Hello to all and welcome back to the lovely Catiedid so glad you're backing rocking my world again!
Been an quite a dull week, not really done that much. Nerd fest was cancelled due to illness, which was only mildly dissapointing. So I'm stuck in on what seems to be a mildly nice day. I may go and take a walk along the river at some point.
I've just had to respond to an email an old friend sent me demanding why we had lost touch with each other, it's kind of hard telling someone you used to be quite close to that they are a small minded ass hole. But I guess that's just the way it goes.
I saw the first ducklings of spring yesterday! Which brought a smile to my face, fortunately I had my phone with me, but you'll have to excuse the picture quality
I also ended up meeting a friend for a couple of pints and a game of pool, which was cool. It was a bizarre little pub that looks like a nasty little 'locals' boozer, but when you got inside, it was like sitting in someone's lounge. And I also ended up walking through here on the way home and stayed for some time.
It's a victorian mausoleum in the centre of the city. The ground it was built on is a cemetary housing about 17500 people in a really small area, maybe 200 metres by 300. there were only a few grave stones, less than 20. The mausoleum itself only houses 11 people. But ot's strange is that in the middle of town on a saturday afternoon, the noise of the traffic doesn't reach the place, and it's got a really eerie silence to it.
I ended up just walking slowly around it for about two hours, and I felt this strange sense of peace (Maybe it was the 4 pints of Doom Bar I'd just consumed). Odd how that would be the highlight of my week.
Anyway, this week I have been mostly listening to Lullabies to paralyse by QOTSA, The power of Lard by Lard and White trash beautiful by Everlast.
I have been mainly reading Birds without wings by Louis de Berniers (Birthday present )
I have also watched Supersize me and Bubba Ho-Tep both of which I think everyone should see, they're excellent. (It's also the most TV I've watched in a week for about 6 months!)

there was time, while i was living in DC, that i worked not too far from a beautiful cemetary in Georgetown. i spent many lunch hours walking through the silence of the tombstones and mausoleums sometimes sitting and writing. it was a magical place that provided me a lot of comfort and peace. i really like the pictures you took.
