[Edited and corrected because my memory just started working again... Sorry if you already read my prior invented story of how I thought this all came together]
See the thing is, I knew about SG for a while before I finally joined in Dec. 03 after seeing a copy of whatever LA free paper it was that had the SG cover story with Voltaire (and someone else?) on it. I read the article and thought: Damn, they're really onto something good here and it sounds like the girls get treated like actual human beings. I credited that to Missy being in charge.
Was that article part the HBO special publicity push? Not that anyone cares really. I just find it interesting that I'm once again in a cool-but-not-quite-cool-enough-for-the-cool-kids pigeonhole. Story of my life really...
I never watch TV, haven't had HBO in over 5 years (have litterally never seen an episode of SexITC or Sopranos, etc.), and didn't even know for sure there *was* an SG HBO special until about 6 months ago. I really don't recall the article I read mentioning it.
My not qualifying for SG Middle Skool is just like college was for me. I was accepted right out of high school but didn't enroll until much much later. Missed the boat on getting it out of the way when I should have.
Will you forgive me?
I just thought the name was funny and so I clicked and saw the criteria for entry:
SG Middle Skool
"This is the group for SG members haven't been on the site long enough to be considered "Old Skool," but don't have the patience to play with the new kids anymore.
Middle Skool is ONLY for members who joined in or before October 2003 (pre-HBO Special). Old Skoolers are welcome to join, too."
I guess I prolly sound whiny. Heh. Not looking for anything, just saying is all.

Anyhow...are you playing with STG these days? I was just about to post this as an event, checked out STG's myspace page, and saw a message that said "the fin is back" and thought that might just be too much to be a coincidence.
