You know what's really nice?

Realizing that you have so many pics on your favorites page that you forgot some of them were even there. It's like discovering them for the first time all over again!

They say your memory is the second thing to go...

surreal

Would have loved to have gone to the DVD release last night or the signing tonight, but commuting from...

[Edited and corrected because my memory just started working again... Sorry if you already read my prior invented story of how I thought this all came together]

See the thing is, I knew about SG for a while before I finally joined in Dec. 03 after seeing a copy of whatever LA free paper it was that had the SG cover story with Voltaire (and...

Yeah, seriously, don't worry about not getting into Middle Skool. The only things worthwhile that you're likely to pick up from that group are things you'll hear us talking about in person anyway at SGLA events.

Anyhow...are you playing with STG these days? I was just about to post this as an event, checked out STG's myspace page, and saw a message that said "the fin is back" and thought that might just be too much to be a coincidence.
bean:
Wow. That's crazy. Well, not only did I make it an event, but I made it an open event, and wrote it up for the SG Newswire, so hopefully that gives it some extra exposure. smile

So I got me a new job (5 month contract gig at FileNet.com) paying me far more than I've ever come close to before, a new SGLA membership (thanks Bean for finally getting that straightened out!) and a new lease on life for a freakin change. I'm not gonna hold my breath or anything, but are things actually looking up?

Not everything is perfect: getting...

On writing *almost* completely in metaphor...

As one reads, over time you occasionally finish chapters and eventually you finish whole books. I just finished an important and impactful chapter in a book that I'd been reading over the course of almost the whole past year and I've now set it aside for a while. Within easy reach, but no longer an active read. One of...

Apply again. You were apparently removed from the pending list sometime between the last time you applied and when I took over.

ouch!

so a relatively recent ex of mine has applied to be an SG. I was excited and dismayed at the same time when I heard about this because I think she is absolutely beautiful and I want her to do well with her modeling and I think she deserves it (she didn't really start modeling seriously until after we split), but I also loathed...

Wow. I'm not ususally short on words. But every time I begin, I find I'm reading over my own shoulder, editing as I go and rejecting every submission. Either I'm holding myself back from opening up and being free to be myself or I'm being smart and not saying things that other people (certain people in particular) don't need to be reading. Maybe both.

[sorry,...

I've got all of five people on my friends list here on SG right now and absolutely no idea if anyone else ever sees my journal here. But this is cool and important to me so I'm recording it in every permanent record I've got:

Los Angeles' legendary cyberpunk band STG has reformed, and it just so happens that I'm the keyboardist. We made...

Say what you want about whether or not you believe in astrology. I personally am inclined to discount it as a bunch of hooey by our ancestors to try to rationalize things they couldn't get their heads around, but if the way the people I know around here are acting the past couple of days is any indication, the full moon sure is doing it's...

GOD DAMN what a crazy ass storm we're having here in LA!Usually nothing wakes me up in the middle of the night, but rain harder than I have seen in as long as I can remember plus lightning, thunder and *hail* that actually woke me up. How come you're not here to share this with me? Storms are always best with company...

As the cold...

getting out and walking in rainy, foggy weather is a good way to become roadkill. i'd rather strap on my helmet and brave it out on the short bus... i mean car. whoops.

as for HST... i still don't feel like it's real yet. i always assumed he'd go out with more style. you know, something like getting really drunk and crashing his car into the white house or taking a metric assload of drugs.

it's kinda funny, when i saw fear and loathing and started reading his work i remember thinking "wow, i wish i would have known this guy when he was alive." i could not fathom that someone with a drinking/drug habit like that would survive until the 1990's not long after that i found out that he was still around and still writing.

Heh.. I have no idea where you could buy one or what it's called. When it's on, it's kind of like a digipet.. it bobs around in its water and makes noises until you "feed it" or "play with it" by pushing buttons.
