yes, yes, back to the old tricks of self delusion.
my weekend trip to boulder taught me one very clear thing. I appreciate diversity. I'm glad to be here.
I had dinner at a diner on polk... dank little place with lots of trains. The people around me were creatures of habit. Their movements predictable after only moments of familiarity. Everyone was like a charicture, but an incredibly unique charicture. The woman at the end of the bar with the giant cafeteria lady's hair and the tiny mouse-like face, sniffling over her soup... the slobish man beside her with the mannerisms of a 7 year old, most likely retarded, drinking his coffee in quick sips between which he placed his cup methodically back onto it's saucer for only a second... the old man in the corner with the tight face, complaining about the "new generation"... and the waitress, a humble, slightly bent over chinese woman in her 50's, moving quickly but seldom looking up. It made me want to draw... Like I said, I'm glad I'm here.
the bourbon was last nights savior... tonight it's pain killers, and lots of them. my scalp is already tingling.
