This was the first camping trip - elevation was over 8000 ft and we got there just after a hail storm so there was a lot of slush on the ground when we first arrived. I started taking pics the 2nd day we were there, since setting up the tent and grilling some food was first priority.
I made fast friends when the chipmunks realized I was willing to share my home-grown strawberries...lol
and there were a lot of chipmunks by the way.... although it's hard to snap a lot of good pictures of such fast little creatures when you are laughing...
There were a lot of different mushrooms up there.
including some rather unique shapes... like this freckly butt-shaped mushroom
and as the slush melted it caused some cool side effects
Overall, it was very peaceful and quiet. And possibly because it was a week day, there were no other campers after the first night.
It was, without a doubt, the best camping trip and most relaxing vacation I've ever been on
I couldn't have been happier, and didn't want to leave, even after a week.
Great pictures! I also am something of a fungus fancier and love pictures of mushrooms, although I don't tend to eat them. That's not to imply that I'm endowing them with sentience, as any local mushroom will attest.
Umm, maybe I should rephrase that . . .
really, amazing pics
