There's this Welsh guy on my course who must be the most luckless person in the world. He loses his wallet, cellphone or university card on a daily basis. He locks himself out of his flat. He is constantly penniless. And today he turned up looking as if he'd been in a road accident: one eye deep black and bloodshot, the other reddened and bruises all over his face. Apparently, he'd gotten into a bar fight. No fault of his own, though: only sheer dumb luck.

On a completely unrelated note, my friend Matti, who's from Finland, celebrated his birthday yesterday, and he made some cakes. Five cakes, to be exact. Nothing wrong with that you might say; except that he had only invited five people to his party...

I know the craziest people. But I don't mind .
