Whew! It finally feels like I can sit down and relax. So, here's the rundown.
Got to Phoenix at about 7am local time, running on about 2 hours sleep. Got the U-haul, then to my dad's. Proceed to help clean up and sort while movers load the U-haul. By 4 the U-haul, (26') is FULL. You couldn't pack a matchbox in that sucker. Proceed to help my dad clean up EVERYTHING that's left and clean up a bit. out to eat with dad and my sister and her family. Then finally asleep at dad's friends about 9.
Up at 5am. COFFEE!!! Pack up backpacks, and say goodbyes. Hit the road. Drive... drive... driiiive... With time change, it's about 9pm... Decide we want Cracker Barrel... according to the Garmin, we can make it to the one in Abeline by 10:45! Sweet... Wait, what? BAM! Blowout 5 minutes after putting route into the gps. Ugh. So, 2 hours later, back on the road and now only concerned with a hotel and sleep. Find a decent hotel, quick shower and pass out.
Sunday morning, up about 7, hit the road. No problems. Home about 4. Quick fast food bite, then the unloading process begins! Yay! Unload until about 10. Realize we can't get the rest ourselves because everything is too damn heavy. Step-daughter shows up with 2 guys she knows. Proceed to unload 1000 lbs gun safe, and 500 lbs bookshelves and entertainment centers, etc. Tear up walls getting it in the house, but it's IN! Still stuff left in the U-haul, but mostly boxes and small stuff. Call it quits at 1am. Pass out
Monday. Finish unloading, which entails packing the storage building to the ceiling with boxes that will need to be emptied and sorted later. Proceed to pack spare bedroom with more boxes and things. Living room a packed disaster area. THEN, go to work at 1. Off at 10, back home to unpack a bit, the sleep.
Now it's just that. Sort, move and unpack in the morning, go to work, then come home and sort, move and unpack some more. Woo!
It is nice stuff though, and it's KINDA fun figuring out where to put all this stuff, but MAN I'm beat, and we're not even close to finished. I've got so many bruises. lol
Ah well... hopefully we can finally enjoy our house again soon!
