I love this comment from NBA commish Stern in the LA Times:
He said that "lost in the frenzy" over his action was the fact that he quashed the deal in his role as the owners' representative looking out for the vest interests of the Hornets, not as the commissioner looking out for the best interest of the league as a whole. How was anything lost, as long as he is the NBA commissioner, his duty is to the league, first and foremost, that must come first, he can not act in the best interest of just one time. He needs to either have other people assigned to do that, or if he intends to be that person, he needs to step down and no longer be the commissioner. There is a major conflict of interest here that can not exist.
