Hey I thought that was a marmot-just looked smaller in the picture. Seen them a lot. Actually, I have a pair of semi-destroyed hiking boots from one chewing on them.

How long are you going to be in Portland? I have an out of town friend coming in on the 19th. but if your here after he leaves maybe we could grab a coffee or a drink. I've lived in Portland for about 14 years now..maybe i can suggest stuff to do.

The salad looks great. Must have been last year with the blueberries and all.

It's really hard. For me it only gets to some scratching on the surface. I've tried bigger tools than just a knife too, but nothing seems to work...
katrina:
Oh, don't try to take me camping..it will end in disaster.... biggrin

Hum..I really gotta go sleep now. Goodnight....zzzz

Ugh! I have the flu. Woke up at 5am on Saturday morning feeling like CRAP! frown

The fun part is I drove 3 hours to go to my neice's wedding and ended up spending the day on my mom's couch begging death from anyone who got close enough to listen. I truly hope this doesn't last past Monday frown

Uh. The Flu is nasty. Hope you get better soon. wink

The backend I use is just Notepad. It's how I started and I don't really bother with editors or anything.

Hey, when you're in Portland you really should check out that contortionist I mentioned in my journal. Her name is Satori and I'm pretty sure she's at Mary's Club every Saturday. Mary's Club is on 129 Broadway. It's fun and....I guess it's just very "Portland." I don't know if you've seen that movie Bongwater, but it takes place at Mary's.

I hope you feel better soon! Tip? Pickled ginger is the best cure for nausea known to science.

Portland OR??? Cool. Maybe we can meet..

AS a response to your comment- I was being a little sarcastic in my journal today - but truthfully if evertyhing is "god's will" why bother to pray at all?

Religon just makes no sense to me.

There's a slight chance I'll be at the Tsunami Bomb concert. If everything turns out right I'll be there. What are you going to be doing in Portland? Vacation, job?

your furry and feathered friends are so cute! i once had a nest of birds in my mailbox that was in the shape of a birdhouse. i had to tape it shut and leave a sign on my door asking the mailman not to put any mail in the mailbox but to leave it in the bag i hung from my doornob. it was very sweet having baby birds in my mailbox love

Woohoo! They're sending someone to fix the hot tub eeek

Of course, I realize they waited til friggin' summer AND as I'm likely to be leaving the state for a bit to do so ... #*&%* ... mad
catiedid:
i really like the idea of "home" as being at peace with yourself. that's something i've never thought of...tragically enough. like you, i've felt "home" as a place or a person but perhaps i've been looking too far. i just need to look within myself. thank you for that! kiss

enjoy the hot tub once it's fixed! biggrin

glad you like the pic.

Just got called for an interview for the Portland contract ... woohoo! Wish me luck. Anybody wanna come visit the NW with me? never really been there during the spring/summer. tongue
catiedid:
congrats on the interview! when are you going?

Well, looks like I *may* be going back to Portland, OR for a few months for a contract. I was there back towards the end of last year, but didn't get to explore much. Any body there or been there that can advise me on places to visit? biggrin
catiedid:
maybe i'm not quit 85...however, i am older then you! biggrin i graduated in '88, so i am just a few years shy of the 20 year reunion. eeek it's true, for some, life after high school doesn't change much at all and for others it is a completely different world. i loved growing up where i did and i love visiting, but i'm really glad i no longer live there.

have fun at your nieces wedding!!
jacinda:
haha i am listening to flogging molly and reading little women kiss

Well, as a first journal entry, this is gonna be pretty lame. Just coming out of a looong term relationship, and looking to meet new friends. Not sure where I want my life to go from here, but I know it's gotta change ....

tongue shocked
jacinda:

A vacation always helps change. Even if it's just for a couple days. Picking up new hobbies does too, but most hobbies suck for me. tongue
