hello ether.

I've been busy most every day working with a recent timeout to visit Germany in October. Have beer for those of you who drink it smile

To stave off the winter blues I decided to buy a bike for a winter project, with the hope of getting it running for a few days before the snow flew. That didn't happen, but it did fire...

Fantasising about not working is how I get myself through the working day. If only I could take that energy and use it to propel me into studying hard to achieve something that could get me into a job where I spend my time not working fantasising about being at work. Or do jobs like that even exist? I reckon Attenborough's team are probably right up there in the best jobs ever, but there must be times when you've been standing in the freezing cold in the middle of the night in a cave full of bat shit crawling in beetles trying unsuccessfully to get that perfect shot of something you can't even see in the darkness that you wish you were in a nice cosy office with a hot beverage machine within arms reach and the ability to nap under your desk when your colleagues leave the room...right? Hmm.

What do you work as? " there's not a day i come home without a sense that the world is a marginally more informed, slightly more healthful, aware and lighter place to be" - this is a beautiful thing to be able to say.

Oops! I thought I had replied back when I got your message, apparently not...

I haven't really dealt with any machine shops outside of my local Red Rooster, so I don't know where's good & where's shady. Sorry I can't be of any more help frown

half a year between posts is probably long enough for something interesting to happen...

so you might think. new president (elect)...gonna have to see what this guy can do with knobs like REid and Pelosi in there. my hope is that there is some HUGE payoff they negotiated with the outgoing administration for going aloing with basically Every FUcking Thing that was asked of them....

What?

You know that feeling you get hearing a recording of your own voice, where you say to yourself, or out loud, "God I sound like such a dork!"?

If only it were that harmless. The other night I was doing some twiddling with some tracks recorded last summer for a downtempo take on Baba O'Riley. Since my "studio" is really just a room with...

yep. new job pays shite, and my hours may be getting shorted on top of it...one of these days I'll actually sit down and add things up.

on the upside, the people are fun, and it's a pretty lo-stress gig. Four days a week, not always ten hours a day, but pretty close on average.

But if anyone has any clues on where to find...
