I went to a Halloween party last night and ran into a friend who was dressed up as a carrot. The story goes that years ago when she was still a goth she wanted to be a vampire for Halloween. But seeing as how being a vampire isn't much more than daywear as a goth, she decided instead to craft her own carrot costume. And, to this day, the carrot lives on.
I've been wanting to post some of my favorite lyrics from Iron and Wine for a little while now. This comes from the song, "Lion's Mane."
so i'll clear the road, the gravel
and the thornbush in your path
that burns a scented oil
that i'll drip into your bath
the water's there to warm you
and the earth is warmer when you laugh
I absolutely love that last line.

Ok - The Great Divorce is not hackin' it. I'm almost done but I'm disappointed. A friend of mine in LA is the one who turned me on to Lewis. I was visiting him and he told me that a lot of what I was saying in a conversation is similar to Lewis' words in A Greif Observed. I then bought that book - love d it and bought Miracles and TGD. And, of course, I loved the Narnia Chronicles as a kid and again at 24.
