1:33AM, Pacific Daylight Savings Time.
(when the hell was the last time I was on SG at this hour?!)
Surreal day to say the least. Returned from vacation in Santa Cruz on Tuesday. Hating my job Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and even proclaiming out loud that I'd soon rather be temping than continue to work there.
And then, voila, I'm laid off. Time to collect unemployment! (a first for me)
After much coughing and sputtering, the owners finally decide to sell the company assets and call it quits. I'm shocked it took this long.
Nevertheless, I'm free now, and uncertain what the future brings. At least I've got enough money to last awhile but it's been so long since I haven't been working 24/7 that I hardly remember what I like or want to do.
Lesson #1: If you don't enjoy your life, your job probably isn't worth the effort.
Lesson #2: Enjoy your life. If you aren't, you're wasting your time.
These are easy things to say and easier to forget. I have to not forget.
