i redid my dresser, bookshelves and walls in a fit of insomnia last night. i was planing on doing them at various points this weekend, but hey, whatever. next up is the top of my bookshelf, which contains my shotglasses and my precious jager bottle collection.
old dresser:
new dresser:
and the piece de resistance, my mirror. i didn't take any pictures because i tried manually and auto focusing on it, but the lighting in my room is shit, but i bought these gauze cloths things that kind of look like crypt veils. i have a grey-green one for my mirror, and two cream ones over each window like curtains. yes, my bedroom's theme is halloweenish.
most of my dvds are in israel with my best friend sharon(a dude), and most of my (good) books that i love are in a dorm in suny oneonta with my cousin scotty danger (he refuses to be called anything else).
the dvds are a lost cause, but i have a copy of faust parts 1 and 2 in german and english, and an early edition copy of "the trial" by kafka with illustrations. now, the whole thing with the trial is, i loaned my more recent copy of it to someone, and i don't remember who, and now i'm without one of my favorite books ever, and i want to reread it so fucking badly, and i'm too broke to even go to strand and get a used copy.
anyway, BOOKSHELF:
again, it's like 3/5ths of what i actually own.
i'm really excited to go to coney island on saturday, even despite the impending thunderstorms. i really hope they come early or push back to sunday.
The only books i have lent out that didn't come back and bummed me out were poetry volumes that are no longer in print and a few personally inscribed volumes by Andre Dubus (Sr.), an old (dearly departed) friend.
Your dresser re-do looks great.
