Well, technically it was yesterday (Feb 1), but still...I didn't get my tattoo I was planning on getting, because it turned out to be three times more expensive than I was led to believe. *sticks out tongue in disgust* Why does it always come down to money? And why, in my case, is the price always ridiculously higher than it should be? My dad told me that when he got out of his basic training, he went into a parlor to get his Eagle, Globe, and Anchor--they quoted him $25 for the whole thing, full colour, FOUR colours, full detail, the whole freaking package. He said that was too much and walked out. Of course, that was about 35+ years ago, so I'm at a loss as to why I ever thought I could get a memorial-type thing that was about an inch long and would go on my ankle for about the same price he was quoted for something that would have covered half his upper arm. Woman at the parlor--"Oh, our minimum for tattoos is $100, so what you want would be around $100 even." I nearly died where I stood. After all the trouble we went through just to get down there to get it done, only to walk away with nothing. That was my big birthday present, hung in front of me for months, and gone the second the final price was inquired THE DAY OF. Can I just say, what the fuck? Anyway, my birthday was still fun, but it took HOURS to get over that shit. I don't know why, maybe I just overreact to things? *shrugs* Anyway, better be off to work and face the football madness that is bound to fill the entire day. At least my birthday wasn't today.
Okay, done whining now. XD
Please tell me something awesome that happened yesterday. Besides Velour's set, 'Lazuli'. I'm freaking speechless over that one. Such beauty! It makes me feel better. It's a nice birthday present in itself. :)
