This journal is dedicated to Anx because she inspired it
I posted this invite for an art opening this weekend
(which you are all welcome to attend including those of you who stalk me and have never commented on my page, fascinating)
Anx said "It looks good. Although i do not like art openings.. its so much better when no one is around and you can stand and stare without being hurried. nggh."
my response:
true, I like getting really close to the painting to see the brush strokes are they erratic and maniacal or Vangoh-esque swirls or was the artist anal and calculated when working.
If its an artist I am obsessed with I will get close enough to smell the painting.
certifiable, I know. but I figure If I get close enough to the art I am bound to get at least one molecule of that persons essence on me or inside of me..
When I work on my paintings (which I rarely post) I consider these things.
My breath is in the hardened paint, sometimes my finger prints, sometimes my blood ( literally ) very rarely my tears ... I don't DO the crying thing that often.
All of these things go into a painting some of the artists soul is bound to be in the work not just in the portrait the artist painted.
if you get close enough its quite like sex.
