I noticed a disturbing trend today. It has to deal with the whole credit cards thing Buy now, pay later. Get this beautiful bedroom set and pay nothing until 2009! Well why not just do this. Don't fucking buy it unless you can pay for it up front. You never know where you will be in 2009. You could be a homeless drug addict. But hey, you got a pretty bitchin' bedroom set, right? Luckily my parents are very smart about money and taught me at a very early age that it's best to not buy something until you have the money for it. Obviously you will have moments where you have no choice but to use a credit card, but I think it's just something that is abused.
This credit theory has been applied to people's own lives. That is even more frustrating to me. People do things and don't care about what will happen down the line. They don't even consider the possibility that their actions have consequences. We are already paying for this, just look at the environment. But I'm not a hardcore environmentalist so I won't go into that.
I'm sitting in a Starbucks. Yes, I said it. For those of you who know me, this is.. Well, it's just insane. But I absolutely love to people-watch. And what better spot? I bought a drink just so I don't feel like a creepy person Not a fan of the hot chocolate, but meh it's better than water.
There are these two older women sitting next to me chit chatting about well to be honest it's about such idiotic things that I kind of zoned them out. Haha so much for my dedicated people-watching idea. Not much action in this place today. I guess everyone is out living their life instead of sucking the teat of the coffee conglomerates.
This thing I'm writing is going nowhere. I didn't start typing in the hopes of getting anywhere, but it's just nice to start something and then poof! It magically ends up being something decent. That hasn't happened to me lately.
Two women just walked in and by the looks of their outfits, I could have bought an entire year supply of chapstick and rum for the price of their shoes. (Chapstick is basically my idea of makeup. Rum is my drink of choice.) I am the queen of the cheap outfit. I don't really pull off the look well, but it's better than buying $500 worth of clothes, looking at the cashier and confidently saying "I'll charge it".
