So ... when you promise your boss that you won't work on a single thing until you finish "X Project" ... what would be the next appropriate course of action, do you think?
~A New Journal Entry~
I really am a fairly good employee in the sense that I am good at my craft and I can usually meet deadlines. I am a terrible employee in the sense that I am unable to conform to corporate politics and normal hours and stuff like that. Luckily, I have dual monitors on my desk. This means that I can have real work up on one screen, while f'n around on the other. Some people think they know my problem.
This seriously isn't true. I have NO TIME ever, for anything! This is what my life and work schedule is REALLY like.
But don't worry. I'm not complaining. I really do like bondage! My projects will get finished on time or they won't. My boss will be happy or he won't. I'm not going to say I'm powerless over the course of my day ... but I am powerless over how they react and I have learned that the reaction is usually not related to the performance. Nope, the reaction is related to their perception of the performance.
And due to that revelation, I have decided a quick journal update is the most important thing I can do right now. Why? Because it makes me feel good and judging from the comments I get, it makes you feel good ... and all of us feeling good cannot help but boost my self-esteem. A good self-image definitely makes me a better employee. So consider this journal entry to be a contribution to my career.

By the way, the hand photo above comes to us from The Aaron Fan Club website. Aaron is my good friend. He's about to turn 19 this week. I have known him since he was about 13 or so. I wanted him to help me with some multimedia stuff I was doing, so a few years ago I built him a computer he could use at home. He turned out to be brilliant, a perfect fit, and in the list of my young friends, I have voted him "Most Likely To Succeed." He used to work for me during his last year or two of high school. I am an evil boss and he was so good at both managing my business and dealing with my attitude. I would never hire someone my own age because they are too set in their ways and their egos too fragile. Okay, I don't mean never ... I mean, generally speaking, I love both the intelligence and the attitude of his generation.
If anyone should have an ego, it should be Aaron. Check out his website -->
The Aaron Fan Club
Like many things that turn out well, it started as a joke. Now Aaron has bonafide fans from across the world. It's sort of like the Angelyne thing where he is famous because he decided to be ... only he's actually cool. He doesn't, however, have a pink Corvette. I especially love his reviews section ... if you scroll down to find the one from 1/30/04 entitled "My Son" you will see the crazy things he does to my child, Daron.
If you stop by to visit his website, be sure to leave him a message saying Suzy sent you.

What are some of your favorite odd things on the Internet? I need a good laugh or fright or inspiration or something.
Love to you,

I went to pick Daron up from school tonight and he had won 1st Prize for raising the most money in his St. Jude Children's Hospital fundraiser. He raised $135.00 for pediatric cancer patients and I am proud of him.
