My timing seems to be off sometimes ... last night there was something I could have done, but I had to work. Well, side jobs are my bread and butter. I love when I can spend 42 minutes ridding a computer of a virus and get an extra $50 ... I mean the guy had NAV ... if he would have just clicked on the removal info so conveniently listed and read a paragraph he could have done it himself.
THEN ... I went to another dude's place because he couldn't open email attachments. Too bad I didn't realize he was using Outlook Express or I could have walked him through on the phone. I thought he was using Outlook and that would require a registry edit. It took *literally* 15 seconds to fix ... my quickest job ever! As much money as I have made off that man in the last year for similar things, I couldn't bring myself to charge him for 15 seconds. That is probably my first free housecall. But he did give me some good 420!
Once I was talking to a non-computer person about the side jobs I do and I was referring to my client as a "dumbass." He asked if that was the technical term we geeks use for people like him. That put a smile on my face! So if you ever hear me say ... there's a technical term for people like you ... you'll know what I'm talking about. I am so Nick Burns: Your Company Computer Guy from Saturday Night Live! Move!
Anyway, I made a few extra $$$ last night but I didn't get to go out and do anything.
Soooo ... it's Friday night and I just got paid. Any suggestions on what is cool and clever in Los Angeles tonight? I'm so itchin' to go out!
Love to you,
~Suzy
AFTERNOON UPDATE:
I probably cannot go out tonight because of children, laundry and responsibility. But I really, really NEED to go out tomorrow night. What's happening in the City of Angeles this Saturday night? Any suggestions? I am working all day both Saturday and Sunday (in addition to my corporate hell M-F day job, so I deserve to have some fun, don't I?). If you help me have fun, I'll love you forever!
