So, in an effort to thwart the insomnia, I went out with rawr_ima_monster and we did a modified Fairfax bar crawl. He was kind enough to give me some notes on my new script while we ate at Canters. The work dispensed with, we then went to The Dime to have a giant scotch amid the faux hipsters. It was too loud and crowded for me, so then we went to Largo...only to find out they were closing up after a stage show featuring some hugely coifed transvestites in giant ankle breaking shoes. So, back across the street to the Kibitz room for several Jack and Cokes amid a bar full of cute British girls. The band that was playing even adopted a snotty british sneer in their vocals, even though they were clearly from the valley. Afterward, we went back across the street to the wonderfully Cthulu-cool Nova for some spaceage snacks and a goodnight Newcastle.
Today, I woke up early...ish...which was too bad as I was sleeping quite well for once. I was invited to a test screening of a new horror film called 'Seance' that was produced by one of my old bosses and his wife. It was quite good for a first cut. They're going to look at my vampire script. I must hurry and finish the rewrite.
Tomorrow I'm headed to San Diego to celebrate my sisters birthday. I'm only going for a night, but it will be good to take a little trip.
