So, I've taken to long walks with Ippy, my Ipod. In the interest of science (and an apparent OCD disorder) I write down the first 5 to 10 songs Ippy plays in order to glean some insight into my own mental state. I clearly need to be medicated, but here's some playlists from the past to weeks.
Back to the Base - X
Safe and Sound - Sheryl Crow
Can't See (Useless) - Oingo Boingo
I'll Wait - Van Halen
Heart of Glass - Blondie
In This House I Call Home - X
This first set of songs is all about home and time and perhaps being patient with one's self to get over some trauma.
Atomic Punk - Van Halen
Ghost of Mae West - Trailer Bride
Warm California Sun - Ramones
Burning Like a Flame - Dokken
Sunset Grill - Don Henley
Wasted Years - Iron Maiden
Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd
The second set is all about Los Angeles and the insanity of living here both good and bad.
New Model # 15 - Marilyn Manson
King of Pain - The Police
Thanks to You - Emmylou Harris
Edward Scissorhands (Suburbia) - Danny Elfman
Footprints on my Ceiling - Social Distortion
Little 15 - Depeche Mode
I Still Can't Believe You're Gone - Kelly Hogan
And the third set is about grief and rememberance. And no, I have no idea what the number '15' symbolizes, but when I figure it out...my brain will asplode.
Now, I know the first thing you're thinking is...wow, you listen to Dokken? What the fuck is that about? (I don't know, I'm old and got nostalgic.)
And the second thing is...Ippy is inside my head...AHHHHHHH!
And the third thing is...wow, you really need to get out more. Point taken.
