So, drove up to San Jose this weekend to attend the wedding of my dear friend Nathania. I hadn't seen her for months. When I walked up, she ran over to me and gave me a long wonderful hug.
We met while members of David Lynch.com almost four years ago. I'm still not sure how we got so close as friends. She has two kids from a previous marriage and at the time was going through a divorce. She's a devoted mother, knitter, spiritual explorer and model beautiful. I am none of those things.
But lo and behold over the past few years, we've watched a lot of movies, made movies, bemoaned each others strange affairs of the heart, driven to Seattle together for the Twin Peaks fan fest, had crazy fun in Vegas on my birthday and have otherwise had a wonderful platonic friendship that truly has some ethereal componant that I can't explain.
When I got back today after my five hour trip, I got teary because she has been a great part of my life the past few years and has made me a better person. It's a blessing to have friends like that.

Thanks for the kind words. Who knows, I may be back eventually. I'm just giving it a rest at present.
