So, I have two relatives on opposite sides of my family. One old, one young. I love them both. They love me. We want the best for each other, I'm sure. And yet, both of them seem steadfast in taking current courses of action that are ill-advised, impractical, irrational and otherwise fly in the face of multiple attempts to set them on a better, smarter...

Ah guilt. *hug* We'll get through this, and so will they.

I'm packing! I'm packing MY stuff! The movers arrive at 8:30 am. Tomorrow will be pretty much a day of cleaning. Yay!

So, I got--I believe the scientific term is--'shit hammered' last Friday...some on Saturday...and a little on Sunday. In addition, I saw a bunch of friends I hadn't seen in a long time, all in an effort to relax a bit from the rigors of the job. It did work. Eventually. Practice makes perfect.

In addition, on this fine Ocho de Mayo, Trixel will be here...

I don't know who this "trixel" is -- do you mean "mrs. surlyclown"??

Funny, I was shithammered this weekend too.

So, from last Thursday through Sunday I worked like 45 hours. Things seem to have settled a bit, but the drama continues (not involving me thankfully, but still, it makes for a grind.) I've been reminded to say the mantra "I"m a tool" in times like these, as there's no good reason to get sucked into or become too stressed out others inability to function...

I love the all-encompassingness of the Olympics. Though, I must admit, the Winter games have always sort of been the redheaded stepchild in that twosome. Not that I don't love watching them and wouldn't love to go to some of the events live, but I think you know what I'm saying. I think seeing them here in LA back in the 80s really turned me into a fan for life.
trixel:
Not much longer. *kiss*

So, I'm sitting at my desk at work, where I've been since 8:30 this morning, waiting for my boss to finish a script that's so overdue it's not even funny. We shoot next Tuesday. THIS COMING TUESDAY! And Production has never even gotten a full locked script yet. At least I no longer fear losing my job at this point because so much drama has...

So, I wasn't fired and apparently did a half-way decent job given the lame circumstances.

In better news, Trixel will be here -- FOREVER! smile -- come May 26.

So, currently still at work, waiting for a script that foolishly needs to be filtered through my tiny head before going on to Vancouver tonight...or early this morning, where tomorrow morning 30 assorted Canadian-types are having a long-delayed production meeting about said script, so it needs to be things like 'locked' and 'production ready' and 'proofread' and 'formatted consistently' and 'track properly' and 'make fucking...

So, I screwed up at work this week and was sternly rebuked...at 6:30am no less. Suffice to say I'm not putting up any artwork in my office just yet. blackeyed

no timetable, although they did play one of the new songs--i forget the name. I'm not holding my breath though, based on the 8 year gap between the last 2 studio albums.

So, last week was like this: Celebrity infatuation, (almost) community immolation and spiritual introspection.

The new show I'm working on is still casting and we've had a parade of perky actresses filling up the hallways auditioning for the lead female roll. Low and behold as Burbank began to burn down on Friday, Rachel Perry was here to audition. She's the voice of all those wonderfully...

So, yay, I'm sick. And if that weren't cool enough, here was my weekend:

Friday: Sick at work. Am told I will have to work on the weekend. Am also told my appointment to see my new accountant has been pushed up to 8am Saturday. I have yet to go through the pile of receipts for said meeting, so I ultimately decide that going to...

So, as if the stress of a new job on a new show with new people and new things to figure out isn't taxing enough...it seems as if I have a cold trying to smack me down. I got home last night, took my Airborne, aspirin and orange juice and just went to bed for 10 hours. Still not sure which way this will go--if...

Sorry I'm so far behind. Nice to hear you're settling into your new job. I am waiting for a flourished butt kicking soon myself.

Open door policies rule. But Vista is the devil! (If you thought Ben Franklin was you are sorely mistaken...oh man...I have to see more current movies tongue )

Life certainly is a rollercoaster. Glad to hear yours is turning out for the best.

I love proofreading humor. biggrin
I suppose the sad times are when there are people who make horrific mistakes and don't mean it as a joke. The interweb is full of such things. whatever

Big hugs! Feel better! smile kiss

So, one year ago today was one of the worst days of my life and one of the best. My father was rushed to ICU when his blood pressure dropped. trixel was in town and I had planned on proposing to her. My dad stabalized a bit and my mom ordered me (at my dad's behest as well) to follow through and give them some...

So, I'm sitting in my new office on Wilshire, seven stories up with a view...of nothing, I am just the script coordinator...at this point. I'm working on a new show that's coming out which I can't tell you about yet, but it should be fun and I'm working with some good writers. So far have not found me incumpitunt, though the new computer I've been...
