The in-laws sound like my parents. Yeah, there's a reason I don't like spending time with them.

I wonder if the passive aggressive thing is a Canadian thing? I have been accused of this by my wife who is not from here. then she tells me that she sees this behaviour in many of our friends and acquaintances. hummm. the real problem is that my therapist is American so has no perspective on this country wide thought.
