Kill me please.....save me the struggle...
Buzz words piss me off....like when people say, "think outside of the box," or sometihng to that effect I just want to hit them really hard....or another good one is when someone is like, "when others see loss, I see opportunity" mergers/opportunity/takeover/action item... bollocks....
Why do we feel that we need to describe everything with these "catchy" little sayings for the person "on the go" seriously who gives a fuck about you and your silly little "power suit" and your uninteresting life.... no matter how many times you say your personal mantra for making money or success nobody is ever going to care or be dazzled by your money or success..
sad state of affairs I have here.

the design that i argued for, the kind that moves people doesn't necessarily have to be wild and expressive. that's the thing. and the trick. i have found, esp. at my current job, that if i can sell an idea to my boss that has the feeling of being me but still solves the problem, then i have succeeded. it's for really really mundane material too for an audience who doesn't even really appreciate or understand design. i am by no means saying, oh, take yourself out of the design. it can't happen. it would be someone else's project. the key is to find a really cutting edge design firm that can let you put your own expressiveness into the project. most designs that i look at lack any type of personality, they're downright boring. (like the the guy that spoke to my class today...yawn) i think that the type of design one creates is solely based around it's industry, client and audience. i want to work in a realm that is always changing, modern and young. because that is where you can get away with the most challenging, edgy design. so don't think that i am going back on my previous statements. just looking at it from a different angle of possibillities.
I thank you for your compliments. it means a lot coming from someone with the incredible talent that you have. don't worry, i would never sell myself short. never/ever. you're not allowed to, either. even if it all gets incredibly rough. don't give up.
and, to comment on your post...
people are so easily disillusioned by a life of riches, success and money. all that they will ever want is more. and from my small understanding of eastern thought, (not that you are referencing it directly or anything, it just relates) allows suffering to continue all over the world.
whew.
please take care
miss you
