I am on my 3rd day of a 4 day vacation! LOVE IT. I made a baby blanket for my friend, got stuff to make a Star Wars blankie for me, and a pattern for a skirt....I haven't used my sewing machine for clothes yet. I hope i don't fuck it up!
Later I'm having lunch with an old friend from high school that I really miss, so that's cool. And then I'm gonna rollerskate over to the school to pick up the boy.
Speaking of which, he joined the chess club and totally loves it! I never heard of a 7 yr. old who was into chess. I was into mud at that age. We told him he had to pick an extra-curricular activity but he was having a hard time. He changed his mind so many times...basketball, karate...he wants to learn guitar but he can learn at home on Mike's. I must admit, my first reaction when he told me that he chose chess was "Oh No. He loves Star Wars, isn't sporty, and now he is joining the chess club??? Time to teach him to fight...." But it's probably not that serious. Most of his class joined too. I'm really proud of him though, of course. I just love to see him happy.
Last night we saw Charlie Murphy at the Improv.
He kinda sucked. Too wordy, long stories with not enough punch lines. The only funny part was the end when he started doing some of the Rick James bit. The comedienne who opened for him was rad though, Loni Love. I'd see her again.
Okay... time to do laundry!
