The good thing about not wearing combat boots any more: no one thinks I'm an industrial/metal-type guy, just a dork. The bad thing about not wearing them any more: cold-as-hell water puddles on the way into school. My feet feel like I've ridden a water ride at King's Island and then hiked for 6 hours. Damn eco/animal-friendly canvas skate shoes.

The is the first moment...

Bah, the jacket will re-emerge soon... from the depths of cory's couch, no less.

Someone brought hot chocolate to work yesterday, and I could smell it right as she took it out of the bag. I miss that drink... I think it's time to buy me a jar of it next time I'm at the grocery store.

Yay Virgo Hoosiers. We're uncultured and obsessive-compulsive!

Nice to meet you.

Tried to go out dancing last night, to little success. I think I got half an hour in before giving up the floor to guys who wanted to "lean back" and other such non-dances. Bad music, bad crowds. At least the servers and security were happy to see us.

Had a tortured little nap when I got back home, and woke up early to try...

Silly dating profile.

(For those who are sick of the Stephanie-break-up thing, skip the next couple of paragraphs.)

The passive way to break up:

Left Stephanie a terse, but polite note on my public LJ. Found out she has been dating others; since it was obvious we weren't working out, that wasn't what bothered me, so much as the duplicitous nature of it, the attempt to hide her...

I agree, I told my mom a few days ago when she got mad at me for deciding to vote for Kerry, that with a republican house and senate a Democratic president would bring back the balance we need. I then went on to tell her that I would vote for Kerry even if the GOP managed to produce videos of him raping children and wiping his dick on the flag. And I can't think of anything worse than doing that, except GW.

Hey hun, dont worry ull be doing lots more then playing with a house cat hehe....cant wait til i meet ya tomorrow.....hehe dont be so down im telling ya

Well, I added an old, ugly pic for my profile, so that people wouldn't think I was trying to be anonymous. I've read enough comments in the SG boards that made me realize that "no profile pic" is often a red flag. Be nice about it.

Need to sleep soon- once again, there are plans afoot to go see "A Dirty Shame," this time in...

Am I the only person who is utterly, utterly disturbed by the TV advertisements for Burger King's breakfast foods? I can't imagine waking up in bed, turning over, and having the giant plastic-headed 1970's Burger-King King grinning at me. Well, I can imagine it, actually, but I don't like it.

...

After giving her a few months and not getting any feedback, I'm giving up...

Random disjointed thoughts strung together to form an entry. Begin... now:

Spent a few hours yesterday and last night studying for my two upcoming Spanish tests. I think I'll do well if I keep a clear head and take my time on sentence construction. I'm mildly impressed at how much vocabulary I've picked up over the last few weeks. 140 or so essential words introduced...

Good luck with the crush. There are two girls at my work that I would love to talk to, but never have. So, to give you the advice that I can't take myself: Go for it!

Well, this was an interesting night. Went to Red Garter, met Kali, Sqook, and err... Matt- not sure what his username is here. Took Tony along, and he brought his friend Dave, and both of them disappeared for the majority of the night... returning in time to cheer Kali on as she mopped the floor with the competition.

Anyway.

This was both an odd way...

Ha! It was me! Nice to meet you. And yes, the Red Garter was a bit strange of a meet up, but it sounds like it worked to your advantage. Cheers!

Running a low A+/high A in Spanish. Not bad- considering that I'd never studied a language before- but I'd still rather be running a solid A+. Two tests next week. I need to study heavily for them, since I'm having trouble creating good sentences (leaving out articles, adding "de" when it's not needed before an adjective, etc.) One of the tests is an oral test...

Hmm. New dating thing here on SG; very tempted to fill it out. I'm none too thrilled with how things have (not) progressed with Stephanie, and would really like to open my options up to the possibility of dating someone else.

I think the more I get to know her, the more I find we've not much in common. When she was someone I just...

A beautiful, cold night. I had to scrape my windows a little before driving to see Stephanie for lunch. My homepage thermometer sez Indy's 34 degrees right now. I love it when the weather turns chilly.

Stephanie seemed in good spirits, okay with my unannounced visit, and lunch was good. Laffs and easy talk, none of the uncomfortableness that's marked our last few times together....

I, too, have been debating whether or not to vote green. I really like cobb's ideas, but I think I'll probably end up voting for nader just because of sheer visibility. Indiana is going to definitely go to bush anyways, so I'm not too torn up inside by tearing votes away from kerry (who I also believe is a wolf in sheep's clothing).

(Edit: Ooooh, you like royksopp. Badass. wink )
