I tried to come on here yesterday to update. SG was slow as hell, though, even when I was on broadband on campus. So...

The weekend out with QaliDoom was quite awesome. More fun than I should have had sober, and I guess I did okay at not causing awkward silences or anything. Even the mention of "punching Mother Teresa in the mouth" didn't kill conversation, so all was well.

Qali's way cool. She's interesting to talk to, nice to be around, definitely nice to look at. I appreciated her lack of pretension, something I've kind of gotten used to when meeting people over the years. She's not holier-than-thou about her music, she's not judgemental. Frankly, I appreciated the sense that she just accepted me as who I was- if I'm a dork, it's okay. And she's not afraid to just have fun; I'm not sure there are many other people I could have gone with to Talbott Street and just had a blast with from the moment we walked in. (And, yeah, I feel weird talking about her in third person, since she'll read this. Hi Qali!)

Not sure how I feel about her lack of love for cheese, though. Cheese = manna. And mayonnaise sucks. The whole world thinks so.

Talbott St. was beautiful. I want to rent a moving van and steal all of their fixtures and accoutrements. The vibe was good; unlike (most) hetero dance clubs, there wasn't that frat-boy/date-rapist crowd, no one in checked shirts and curved baseball caps looking to grind on unsuspecting patrons. Everyone had fun dancing, but everyone pretty much respected everyone else's personal space. I'd definitely love to go back- good dancing is hard to find in Indy, and since I'm not out to seduce women when I dance, Talbott St. being a gay bar doesn't matter.

I did feel like a slob, though; I'm used to just dressing "casual" to go dancing- Chucks, plain t-shirt, whatever. Uh-uh. I felt like I'd crawled out from under a rock; if Qali had said I was cute before, I had to wonder how far down I went on the list when we were surrounded by hot-hot guys for a few hours. Maybe somewhere above Bill Gates... (One interesting aside, and one I need to convince my guy friends of- the Talbott patrons are the guys who are most fashionable in Indy, and not a one smelled of "Bod" or "Axe." There's already been a thread about this in Lifestyles, but it bears repeating- good colognes don't come in spray cans or Windex bottles.)

...in other stuff: rumors at work about how Dave died continue to solidify, as more details are learned. Looks like Stephanie may have been the (inadvertent) cause. She's not coming back to work, either. Looks like the book and calculator I loaned her are write-offs.

Debating about how I'm going to pull the spring semester off. Not financially (though that's up in the air as well); time-wise, things are... well... sucking. My next math class is afternoon or evening only; Spanish morning or afternoon. I really have to get back to taking 6-9 hours a semester again, but it's a stretch for me to do afternoons for long. I'm not a happy person when I have to be out in the daylight. Morning classes are easier, but... feh. I don't know what to do.

Sounds like a rad club... I can't wait to check it out (someday).

And fuck morning classes. Especially during the winter semesters... misery, misery, misery.
