I think I've been on an "up" period the last few days; the timing of my brain chemistry couldn't be more perfect. Feeling good in spite of a cold shoulder coming from the ex-girlfriend at work, enjoying work, life, school. I think it's helped that I'm opening up a bit more socially, since I don't feel as trapped in my life as I otherwise would.
The "let's be friends" thing that goes along with every break-up isn't being followed through, and it kind of pisses me off. I'm still worth talking to, even if I'm not worth dating. I think. Why try to be friends with someone who's been untrustworthy and has been treating me like crap? Well, it makes work less awkward...
School still going good. Got a 98 on the midterm in Spanish, so things are peachy there. I feel a little more comfortable with the class again; it's not fun, but it's not boring, either.
It really makes me wonder how I came to learn English. I don't consciously know the rules of grammar, but try to write what "sounds good." I guess I do okay... I'm aware that I'm not always correct, but IMO style and the ability to communicate a concept to the reader is more important than following concrete rules. I certainly did okay in honors composition, so...
Stupid aside: a new drinking game for work. While on a 15 minute break, sit next to Harlen with a bottle of something high proof. Every time he says "Marine corps," take a shot. Tony and I counted 22 "Marine corps" on our last break. I can't wait 'til that boy actually joins the damn Marines, so that he can talk their ears off for a change.
