High school was an amazing time for me due to the fact that it... well it just was. I think you are right about people missing the support we had from our friends in high school. It was nice to have a group of friends but most of us, myself especially, did change and I guess we were supposed to.

Either way Dropkick is one of my favorite bands as well.

Jan is the man once again

I haven't seen it yet. A bar where nihilist and I used to work was used for a bit and he may be in it. I really don't know anyone who's seen it except a friend who's really from Jersey so his opinion doesn't count. Nobody's talking about it, which is surprising because everyone talked about Providence and the Joe Pantoliano show about Buddy Cianci is getting buzz.

Federal Hill is a traditionally Italian neighborhood overlooking downtown. It has been the center point of RI (and at times New England) mafia activity for at least 60 years. The Sopranos had an episode which took place there; I think they were helping out the "family" that helped Tony's when they came to America.

It's a strange place because it became a bit ghetto when the city was dying in the 80's and the people who moved in haven't left since our "renaissance" so you have extremely high-end clubs and restaurants pretty much in the hood. It used to be said that there's no unauthorized crime on the hill, but these days you never know.

Sadly, this neighborhood where you're far more likely to see an Italian flag than anything else didn't have one fucking bar open for the Italy-France game, which meant everyone had to go back to my place and I was out of beer. I haven't gone drinking there since.

Federal Hill is also a great movie by local director Michael Corrente, who made Outside Providence and A Shot At Glory, the soccer movie starring Allie McCoist and Robert Duvall.

By the way, my yahoo draft went fine last night (Alexander at the #2 pick, woohoo). I ended up starting another league so my league that got screwed last week could have a proper draft. We're going to keep the other league up so we can see if we're actually any smarter than the auto-draft. I'm also in a league with sg folks in the football group, you should check it out.

I hope they say their five and ten pence and put together five million quid or so and pick up Anatoliy Tymoschuk, because I think this is the guy who can help the hoops put together a few nice runs in Europe. It is a lot to expect from one player, but he can help on defense, let Jiri concentrate on the attack more, and help Celtic put away close games.
