Another week....
Sigh.
I'm seriously counting down the days until I get to Dublin. Although secretly I'm probably more excited to go to Belfast. A year ago and that wouldn't have been the case.
Speaking of Northern Ireland, I think I'm probably on a government watch list now for the amount of stuff I've purchased or researched via the internet on "the troubles" for my education portfolios and lesson plans.
At this point I'd rather think about singing Pogues' and Celtic songs in a pub in Europe then focus on finishing out this tiring semester.
Plans are still getting organized, but we have tickets "booked" although the dates are still hazy. A piece of good news is that I might actually be able to see a game this summer...although I have a 50% chance.
Its between me and one of my good friends in the biggest Rock-Paper-Scissors game of my entire life.
The winner gets to go to the Australia vs. Japan World Cup game in Kaiserslautern...to the loser...they get to watch in the pub and not catch a game this year.
The next World Cup is in South Africa in 2010, and who the fuck knows what I'll be up to then. I guess if I miss out on this one, I'll be in France for the Rugby World Cup in 2007. Chances are I can actually get tickets for that.
The rest of the week is bullshit busy work, a staple for my classes this semester it seems and I've got to prepare to teach in a "real" high school next Tuesday. Fun, Fun.
A couple of announcements, check out Cain and Wendy's new sets.
Oh, and the US plays Jamaica today at 7 on ESPN2. Hopefully if and ItasianInvasion remember its on. I've got it on DVR, so don't spoil the result!
Slainte, and have a good week!
Edit: It was really nice to see the Twins put Kirby Puckett's #34 in the middle of center field this season. Hopefully it reminds the slumping Twins of the sacrifices of one of the all-time Minnesota greats.
