So Montreal kicks ass. To be honest I haven't seen much of the city but it has a good vibe. The conference meetings are in a funky loft art gallery and that helps. So far 90% of the meetings have been creatiive, inpiring, humbling or all three. There was an amazing play on wednesday night based on the book "Speak Truth to Power - Voices from Beyond the Dark" AMAZING book by the way.
This morning's meetings were based on Global Citizenship and what it means, can mean and will mean.
The afternoon was an overview of the year and the delegation's projects. WOW and I mean, wow...what students have done, for this one network/organization alone. Its a positive reminder that small steps are being taken everywhere by young people who want to change our current trajectory. It can be done but it has become apperent that apathy is our biggest challenege.
Apathy is not an option.
Tomorrow is putting theory in to practice. Imight be a little boring for me since I'm done wih the delegation but there was a lot of talk about the responsibility of the network alumni to be a resourse and stay connected. Wih any luck staying connected will result in an opportunity I might not have otherwise obtained.
There's a killer job opening here in montreal with an organization called Apathy is Boring...suiting considering in my application to this conference I stated "apathy is not an option" I don't speak french but who knows, maybe they'll think I'm amazing and over look that.
That being said, I should get working on my resume.
I hope to return to Montreal soon
