Hmmm...well it looks like I have a bad habit of posting about once every 6 months.

This past year has been quite the learning experience. Work at the Treaty Office has been a slow and steady learning experience, in terms of dealing with difficult people, political and family politics, inter-governmental politics and inter office relationships. Who says Anthropology is a useless degree. Thank goodness for...

So, I haven't updated since August. Oops. The re cap?

I worked for the NDP during the federal election. The candidate I was working for lost.

I decided to stoop and work for Wal Mart only to get a job as the Assistant to the Treaty Implementation Committees for the Huu-ay-aht First Nations one week later. I tried working both for a while, for nearly...

June first, my own personal self imposed deadline for making a decision about leaving Vancouver Island or staying on it. I suppose I'll push it ahead a week, awaiting a call about a job in Northern BC. Student loan deadlines are quickly approaching, as is 25...there is a tremendous amount of pressure, internal and external to be independent. Self reliant if you will. If June...

What do you do when you have a fresh start in an old life? After returning to the island from Halifax I am surrounded again by friends and family. But with no job, no place to live, and uncertainty in relationships where do I start? What do you do when there's no anchor in the one place that should provide it?

Figured it was abou time for an update.

Still in QB, still jobless and still penniless...yet oddly optimistic. I wonder if optimistic can pass as a quality that would matter to employers. I suppose that after this 8 day (and seemingly endless) kid/dog/house sitting stint that I'll have to go back to selling out my soul in retail in hte mean time. The breake was...

Well, it's cool that you're closer, but I can see how it's also not cool. Still, for what it's worth, welcome back.

Sanity is a relative term, though I suppose I can do what I can in that area, even though the phrase "patients running the asylum" comes to mind in writing that... heh.

Good luck with the applications, I hope those French books see some good use in the meantime.
