i'd def. recommend ANY panasonic lumix - any series. leica optics, survives purse drops or worse and operating wise they are all the same anyway ...

besides my (semi)pro cams i just own panasonic now, (had ricoh, toshiba, samsung, canon, olympus, ...).

FT1 - daylight, shock proof - under water 3m!!! HD videos WITH zoom in video

LX3 - leica dlux 4 copy!! - low light, HD videos also low light NO zoom in video

TZ5/6/7... - indoor, nice, not so small but durable
