Finally recovering from a rather nasty bout of the flu. Everyone I know has had it to some degree. Yuck.
In other news the drummer in my band quit, but it's just made me more determined to find someone more dedicated and hungry to succeed. Could well be a blessing in disguise. So the guitarist and I plan to keep writing and searching for really serious musicians who actually want to push hard to get things going. There are a lot of people out there who want to be in a band and want to be rock stars, but as soon as they realise it takes a lot of commitment and often sacrifice in other areas of their lives they lose their enthusiasm real quick.
Personally I don't plan on ever giving up, I'll be writing and playing music in some form until the day I die. I think real musicians do it for the love of music and the creation of something original and interesting. I've known many people in bands over the years who have quit and stopped playing music altogether, which I just don't understand. Fair enough, bands can be a difficult, but not playing at all just seems like punishing yourself as well lol. Perhaps their hearts were never really in the music. Mine definitely is, and for that I'm grateful.
