i just met a really sweet homeless lady with a little-girl's voice when i was surreptitiously dumping our trash in the church dumpsters across the street. I went back in and then I was still thinking about her and how sweet and open she was and I brought her some bread and a jar of peanut butter.
i worry that maybe that's condescending or something... is it? I debated it in my head for a while before running out but I decided that I was willing to risk making her feel uncomfortable to ease her physical hunger.

I used to beg for free produce for the Krishnas in Mexico when I was 19 and it was always awkward but when I got a big booty it was a great feeling. Its hard to say just what kind of feelings a homeless person is facing but showing a little bit of care can never go wrong.
I think you did a good thing there.
poor sophie's armadillo! what a cute story though. i used to collect dead bumblebees. i had a whole box of them. i'm not sure when or how my mom got them and got rid of them. they were just gone one day, and i was VERY sad.
