I'm back! Thank you to whomever got me the gift membership. Who's hanging around here, anyway?
I'm surprised that someone missed me.

Today one of my least favourite customers at work complained that the decaf was "too strong." I tasted it, after I had poured him another cup which, oddly, he deemed satisfactory (as far as I could tell); it tasted like water as decaf always does. And it makes me shudder with annoyance that he pronounces bagel "bah-gull." Ugh!
aaronsrod:
next time add a little soph flavour to his cup wink

It was way fucking colder in SF than it is here in Maine. wtf. I'm annoyed.
And family tensions are running high -- at least it's not my fault this time.

Done:
one 20 page term paper in French.

To do:
one 20 page term paper in English
two Russian exams
one in-class French essay
Christmas shopping

eh.
venice:
Two weeks, huh? That won't help with my procrastination issues, but it's encouraging anyway.

An attorney I work with went there, back in the day, and had a friend who dictated his entire thesis to another friend with a typewriter the night before it was due.
afterbirth:
I HATE christmas shopping!
I'd rather do term papers!

My paper (on Foucault and Andrei Platonov, if anyone cares) was accepted to the American Comparative Literature Association conference, 2007!!!
I've never been to a conference before. I'm scared.
It's in Puebla, Mexico in April, so I have plenty of time to become utterly terrified.

wow that's great! i've been to one conference once, and i would say to bring a lot of copies of your paper, as sometimes other authors like to exchange with you. have a blast. congrats!
anja:
How did I totally forget to comment on this originally? Congratulations!

In other news, if you still have your Slits ticket, you might be able to get a free Faint/Ratatat ticket. Lemme know if you're interested.

All I need to do is work as hard as I can and that will be enough.
Must remember that.

I am so happy you liked the new Bailey set! You will find behind the scenes info in my Oct. 31st journal entry. So did you notice the burning car?
floyd:
