I picked up enough mags and comics in one day to last a month. I was stoked to see Katie on the cover of WYWS, but the short article wasn't too flattering. The writter was expressing nastalgia for punkrock's burgeoning days and basically felt that today's suicide girls are no different than yesterday's trendy prom queens. "Homoginized", and "manufactured" were words that he used. While I partly agree with this, and I'm sure that most people who view the site have thaught the same, It's nothing new and I don't see any reason to gripe about it now. Punkrock was homoginized almost as soon as it started... forcing Black Flag to change their style, and Ian MacKaye to form Fugazi.
Prom queens still exist. The girls here have chosen their look over that and we choose to apreciate them here over that... for whatever reasons.
Anyhow, I'm somewhat suspicious of a 28 year old having nastalgia... for punks early days.
OK, now I'll go paint.

ok dude, i got kinda interested in what Batmonkey would look like, so i drew him. the line art is in my pics, and i will color him soon. i originally wanted to make him a little more fun and cartoony, but he is kinda tough and dark, like batmonkey would be in real life...

Hey there, ended up going to this art show on 30th & Ray. All the galleries were open & they had live music playing in the parking lot. Was pretty cool. Usually I go to Lancers or Live Wire or Zombie Lounge to name a few. How about you? What part of town are you stationed?
