Do you ever have those times when things just sort of sneak up on you? When you're sitting around, barely bothering, and suddenly bother comes your way? My lease is up in a month and a half and I've got nowhere to go. I can't move back in with my father, as there's no point, and I've no prospects of apartments, particularly, in the city, as I'd hoped. I'm not frantically searching for a job in the city which will allow me to actually pay for an apartment, but with no luck. One of my closest friends, Theis, is supposedly moving in with me on the 20th, but he said that about six months ago. Ideally Theis, Iggy and I would find a place to live, but I'm not sure how Theis would take to living with a stranger, stranger whom I love or no. I was counting on my security deposit from this apartment to pay for the down-payment (first, last, whatnot) on my next apartment, but I've been making so little money, and am so in debt to the landlord, I expect they'll just keep it (it's slightly more than I owe them). I really had no idea this was happening so fast. It just came, suddenly, and now I've got to find a job and place to live NOW, all while finishing my thesis, editing two manuscripts, doing my encyclopedia entries (long overdue, at this point), working more-than-full-time, spending time with Iggy and Nadja and actually, oh, you know, trying to have fun.
That, rather depressing, crap aside, I've just had one of the best 24-hours of my life. I woke up with Iggy yesterday, hung out, she went home so I could go to work, I had a few drinks, skipped work, went to Iggy's house and kicked her ass at soccer, walked through the woods with her, got great dinner and went to QXTs where DJ_Cub actually made me dance and nobody other than Jim Beam and Brittany Spears have. We came home and wandered around the neighborhood where I stole a white picket fence (really now!) and Iggy stole a "curb your dog" sign. We woke up and cuddled and ate tofu pups. It's really been amazing, and I'm so lucky and glad. I'm just so tired of everything else.
