I think that, given enough mental stimulation, enough intellectual bullshit to rebel against, something tangible enough and hateful enough to be forced to break through for the sake of my own sanity, I might actually make something of myself.
My plan was (if I ended up doing a dissertation) to write ten thousand words shocking enough to tear down every English department in the world. To expose it, and *us*, as the smug, self-satisfied, mutually-masturbatory intellectual hypocrits we actually are.
I am physically sick of searching for meaning in things that don't mean anything.

Just dont get too high...
90% of everything in this world has no meaning, or at least no meaning that will be pertinent to yourself.
As for English departments, I couldn't agree more, but I graduated from an Engineering department which is pretty much the same wth a huge dollop of arrogance dropped on top. Doesn't mean you or I are the same, also doesn't mean we have to fight it. Fight things that do harm, leave insignificant little people who think that education makes them better people to their own devices, their whole fucked up little world always caves in on them in the end anyway.
Recognising the few things in life that are important is what makes us all happy in the end, realising that there's a lot of fucked up "normal" people should serve as a reminder that it's a good thing to be able to see it, not be a prt of it rather than provide an entity for us to direct anger at.
Life is good when you realise that you can see beyond the normal perception of things.
BTW thanks for the birthday wishes x
