Since my roomie got work I'm working on getting myself out of debt that has accumulated since being unemployed. It's looking like it'll take all of this month and a little more, but on the positive side after that all the cash he gives me will be gravy. And at 800 bucks a month that means I'll be able to take a vacation for real...

And, good on ya for cleaning house a bit. I know you hate it, but dead skin is shed, and needs to be disposed off.

Thanks much for all the birthday wishes everybody!

It's been a long year since my last one. I decided to take another stab at life without help and took myself off of Prozac earlier in the year. For the most part I'm dealing well with anxiety without it. I think a lot of my progress in anxiety has been due to self-discovery and not from...

I need a vacation badly. I've gone on trips in the last five years, but visiting family isn't what I'd call a relaxing time. I need to just pack my bags and take a three day weekend and go somewhere I've never been. I think I'm going to get my second car sold and use a little money to do just that. I'm thinking most...

I wish I could write for a living. God that'd be the bee's knees. It's one of the few things I know I do at least fairly well. I'm sure I wouldn't ever get rich doing it, but if I could pay the bills with it I would. Fiction, non-fiction, comedy, or maybe a little of all three? I don't know, but I do know...

Got hit on by a pretty woman, wussed out. Engaged only a bit when all signs pointed to a green light. Seriously, I need to work on my apprehension towards the opposite sex. I'm not sure where it comes from entirely and why. I can deal just fine in encounters and experiences that are strictly platonic, but it seems that when the possibility of romance...

I'm really leaning towards there. I went through the "what's going on" list, and there were like 10 writer things happening JUST THIS MONTH!!

I LOVED when Crazy Religious Guy would come to campus here and shout from the fountain. All the gay couples would go make-out in front of him. It was hilarious to watch.

So I've been trying a new things in life. First and foremost, getting out of the house more. 99.9% of the time that means doing things alone, but that's just how my life is as I don't know anyone here and don't know how to change that. The more I stew on loneliness, lack of friends, and lack of happiness because of it, the more...

I think you're onto something there. Just this morning, I got out for a doctor's appt. and already I feel better. Even if it's just being out in the fresh air helps. It's way too easy to just to let the feedback loop of the mind do its thing, when you're stuck at home and you don't have any external stimuli to take your mind off things (and believe me, 99% of the time, i'm at home so i know.) Even though the same negative thoughts are going to exist outside, there's just something about being out there that helps. Maybe it's just when you're outside, you feel like you're a part of life more, even if you're doing something alone (which for me, is pretty much most of the time too.) Sure, you still look at couples or groups of friends walking down the street and wish you had that, but there's a certain strength that comes out of being alone out there too, as opposed to when you're stuck inside and you just feel pathetic.

Anyway, I'm rambling now. But I feel ya. Keep fighting the good fight, brother man.

As for the boss, sorry to hear about that. Luckily, I've always managed to work for cool people. But i hear the horror stories. Too many people in management positions just like to power trip; it's sad really, and unfortunate people have to spend their days working for them. Fucking Lumbergs! biggrin

Life has sort of downshifted into lather, rinse, repeat. Pretty much just working all week and moping about on the weekends. I need to find things to do to fill my free time, when I have it, so I don't slip back into permanent mope mode.

Step one will be getting my ass back to a gym. It's been a long time since I went...

So the old man had brain surgery on Thursday, was out of intensive care on Friday, and got released from hospital today. That's fast!
bellica:
Yay! biggrin That's good!

No more sponge baths? Too bad wink

Surgery on pappy went very well from what I've been told. Old man is in ICU for the night and into normal recovery tomorrow. It's gonna be all sponge baths and percocet for Snake Sr.

My pappy gets brain surgery tomorrow to remove his tumor who I have named Kuato. Do a voodoo dance or something for me. I'll also accept a little hand action to get my mind off things.

Passed a major milestone at work yesterday. First on-the-job poop. As a highly territorial pooper I found it liberating.
