Did you hear that? That was my heart breaking:
There are few things I enjoy/fear more than a good zombie flick. High or low budget, well written or super cheesey. I love zombie flicks.
For this reason, I sit here today feeling heart broken and empty inside. Last night I ran out to buy a copy of the latest George A. Romero (The KING of zombie flicks!) film, "Diary of the Dead". I went out and found it, and had a friend meet me at my house so we could watch it together.
Mother of God! It was without a doubt the worst zombie flick I've ever seen... and not in a good way. A couple scenes with cool special effects, but beyond that, it was painful to watch. I wasn't thrilled with he last film, "Land of the Dead", but this one was a thousand times worse. Shitty acting, worse dialog. It was as if he came up with an interesting idea, but didn't bother to put a second of thought into it beyond that. By the end of the movie, I felt like I'd just been raped by someone I"ve known and trusted my entire life... without lube or a reach around.
I'm not sure if it's just my feeling of betrayal doing my thinking for me, but I'm starting to think that he was only the king of zombie flicks because he had no competition.
Is there a "28 Months Later" in the works? I need it to get this piece of garbage out of my memory.
