so yeah, a couple days before creating my public profile here i joined this really big dating service who's name i won't mention; they're the site that's s'posed to help you find your "soul mate" or something.
so i begin filling out my profile and only after answering their 500 questions am i prompted to read their Terms and Conditions, and find out that i'm a year too young! so now i've got this open account that i can only activate (or close) by falsely representing my age. then the next day i get this email asking if something is "holding me back", which i reply to and let these people know of my predicament.
So they send me this generic email telling me how to close my account, which doesn't help because i have to finish my profile before the "close my account" page will even come up. bleh. on top of that, i just read the site's FAQ and discovered that they don't offer same-sex matching, which if i would have known in the first place, i would have boycotted them anyway.
But the good news is, this latest in a long-running series of trips back to the drawing board has made me realize just how un-desperate i am. I'd rather just pursue friendship and see where it goes from there, or simply wait for "vacancies" among the females in my already established circle of friends.
yes, excellent idea. i give myself a pat on the back. ta ta for now!
