On December 20th, 2011, 5 days before Christmas, my 49 year old Father passed away to pancreatic cancer. He had been the lead singer of the heavy metal band Aesthesia since the 80's. He never gave up on his passion for music.
When I was 2 years old, Dad and Aesthesia were touring in Texas. My father wrote me a song while on tour, called Firm Place To Stand.
My dad gave me many gifts throughout my life.
The best were love, strength, and music.
As a tribute to my father, I've covered the song he wrote for me when I was young.
Firm Place To Stand.
My dad always supported me in following my dreams, however crazy they were at the time, and I know he will continue to now.
I have made all the memories I can possibly make with my father. I don't get the chance to take any more pictures with him, and I wont ever hear his voice in person again.
Life is far too short to take for granted. Be sure you make the best of the time you have with loved ones.
"My dad will never walk me down the isle, hold his first grandchild, hug me when I succeed, or hold me when I don't... but he will be there through all of it."

I must say, it's very odd how I've automatically bonded more with my friends who have lost a parent. Such a sad thing to have in common.
I'm sorry that you know how it feels -.-
If you need a kindred spirit to talk to, please do not hesitate.
