Ladies and Gentlemen... meet Nelson.

I thought I'd introduce you all to Nelson at this moment because the poor little guy is having a rough time right now, and it's on my mind. A couple lof days ago I noticed a little cut on his tail. It was only small, and he's picked up things like this before and shrugged it off pretty well, so I left it a day to see if it'd be ok. Yesterday I looked at it and it was looking quite nasty. It was clearly infected, so I took him straight to the vet. They said he'd probably been bitten by something... a fox maybe, or another cat. Poor lil thing. So the vet cleaned it up, gave me some pills for him to take and a lotion to bathe the wound three times a day (which he doesn't like).
He's handling all that fine really, but there's one other lil thing... he has to wear this:

Well for anybody out there who has a cat, you can just imagine how much he likes that! I feel so sorry for him. It's day 2 for him now with that thing on, and he still seems to think he can get out of it by walking backwards. As he walks around the house, the cone bumps things, which confuses him, and scares him I think, so he just freezes for a moment. He's constantly looking annoyed and a bit sorry for himself. It's just so... aww, you just look at him and think "Oh mate, I'm sorry, I know you don't like it, but we gotta do it to make your tail better" but of course he doesn't understand. So he crashes into things and feels very sorry for himself and has trouble sleeping the way he usually does. At times you just have to chuckle a bit at the way he moves around to relieve feeling bad about it, but awww... I do feel sorry for him.
The vet says he has to wear it until the wound heals, so get well soon Nelson, so we can get that thing off you and I'll have my stupid, happy cat back!
When I get my two new kitties they will be called Schrodinger and Pavlov.
Cats pwn dogs. x
Sorry buddy, but if you're gonna go gettin into fights...
