Sometimes I feel like if something happens in my life which wasn't covered in an episode of Seinfeld, I am at a complete loss as to what to do.

On one hand I agree, but on the other other hand I think the culture of pro sports, particularly football, where violence and physical domination over others are encouraged, has done nothing to discourage criminality in players' behavior.

I'm sure that most pro athletes are perfectly inoffensive guys. But I do object to their obscene salaries (I also think most CEOs are grossly overpaid, and actors, and many other rich people) and I don't think that playing pro sports is accomplishing much, not more than what the average person accomplishes anyway.

Sports are entertaining though and given that I'm willing to look past the unsavory aspects of many of my favorite forms of entertainment (the fact that many of my favorite artists and writers are horrible misogynists, for example) I can't blame you for doing the same.
