3:00 am...
Well shit.
I can't seem to shut down my mind and get to sleep... so i'm channeling that into this fire demon...

(a study from a piece by the late Frank Frazetta, who was the man by the way)
I've been a night owl my entire life but some nights you just wish you could shut down at a normal hour >__<
In other news, I've been working on an ink and graphite Suicide Girl piece for a change
I've been relying on digital too much lately and looking to balance that out. It's amazing how the lessons learned while "painting" digitally apply directly to traditional media and vice versa. As far as i'm concerned, Photoshop belongs on the same list as pastels, graphite, charcoal, acrylics, etc...
Just another tool to be used as a vehicle for creative expression.
But I can't deny how incredibly satisfying it is to scrape a line or a shape onto a piece of paper with a good old fashioned pencil or brush! I love everything about it, from sharpening the pencils to cleaning the brushes after a session. God I live for that shit! haha
Anyways, stay tuned for an update on that! It'll be up a soon as it's finished (hopefully tomorrow night if I manage to conquer that age-old demon... procrastination)
Thanks for stopping by.

From my headphones to yours:
Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra, "Kiss the Sky"
Morcheeba, "Who Can You Trust?"
King Crimson, "In the Court of the Crimson King"
Till next time...

I could not agree with you more. I feel like I've learned so much about color, in particular, from drawing in Adobe illustrator. I mean I'm nowhere near the level you are at, but I feel like it's helped my drawing skills incredibly as well.
Are you familiar with stuntkid? He posts some great time-lapse vids of his process.
